Mary Caperton Bingham and Barry Bingham papers, 1929-1953 (inclusive).

This collection consists mainly of correspondence between Mary and Barry Bingham during World War II, when he was serving as Lieutenant Commander, USNR, in Europe and East Asia. There is also correspondence with the Bingham children, friends, business associates, and other members of the family; correspondence between Mary and Barry before their marriage, 1929-1931; and letters from Barry to Mary during his service as head of the Economic Cooperation Administration mission in Paris, 1949-1950, and from a trip to East Asia with Adlai Stevenson, 1953. Also a paper by Mary on literary satire.
